Christmas Trees at Brewery FarmDate Posted: 10 May 2015
At our weekly farm meeting this morning we discussed our Christmas tree crop and how many trees will be ready to sell this year. It seems strange when we are in the middle of a fantastic Indian Summer, to be thinking about Christmas. But it is not far away and we are booked up not only for this Christmas but already have a booking for Christmas 2016!
Our lodge guests are having great weather to enjoy both the lodges and all Dorset has to offer. The hot tubs are in constant use during the day, and in the evenings smoke can be seen from the lodge chimneys, meaning everyone is warm and toasty as the evenings are getting chilly.
The farm is busy. We have been ploughing, re-seeding land and hedge trimming – all signs that winter is on its way. We have been clearing some woodland of dead trees and stocking up with logs to keep us and everyone staying here at Brewery Farm warm this winter.
Brewery Farm Shop will be ordering their Christmas stock soon, and the in store butchery will be putting plans into place for turkey orders. It is good to know that there will be very few food miles used from there!!
So more updates in November – probably around Guy Fawkes night.
